Target has partnered with British "Handbag Queen" Anya Hindmarch for a limited-edition handbag collection called Anya Hindmarch for Target. The chic collection features satchels, shoulder bags and clutches. The color palette is black, chocolate and navy.
The great news is... you don't have to be a celebrity to afford these new handbags! The Target collection will range from $19.99 to $49.99. Just so you know, if you stepped into an Anya Hindmarch boutique you could expect to spend $500 to $6,500! What a fab idea making high street fashion affordable for everyone!
Anya Hindmarch limited-edition series

"We are plastic bags!"
Designer handbags in "faux" patent!

The Anya Hindmarch for Target handbag series will be available at Target from October 12, 2008 to December 26,2008. I hope there will be plenty of inventory for all the Anya fans who want to purchase these handbags. The big question remains... "will there be incredible lines and a purse frenzy for this handbag series like there was for her "I'm not a plastic bag" reusable bags?"

I'm NOT A Plastic bag

October 12th is already marked on my calender for the Target launch. I hope I like them. I hope I buy one. I have admired Anya Hindmarch's designs for years. I have "window shopped" her boutiques in London. I soon hope to be carrying an Anya Hindmarch for Target handbag with her trademark bow logo.

Anya and I both want to know...
will you be dashing out to get one, too?

Antique Flea Markets

Antique Flea Markets

I love going to antique flea markets. My favorite antique flea market is Portobello Road in London and I love the puce (flea) markets in Paris! I also love the little antique market held twice a year in the historic town of Folsom, CA.

Here a few photos from the recent Folsom Peddlers Faire and the Portobello Road market in London. I thought it would be fun for you to see the difference between a tiny American style faire to the largest antique fair in the world! Enjoy!

Antique Peddler's Faire in historic Folsom, CA

Last Sunday was the Antique Peddlers Faire on Sutter Street in historic Folsom, CA. It draws a pretty loyal crowd and there is always something for every type of collector from vintage toys to English silver.

Time for Tea!
Tea accoutrements, tea strainers and toast racks.
This antique dealer is an English lady, naturally!

1950's and 1960's ladies head vintage vases.
A pretty "hot" collectible right now.

American Dolls.
Dolls always bring back child hood memories!

Portobello Road, London, England.

The World's largest antique market held every Saturday!
Draws a huge crowd of locals and tourists!

The Silver Lady's booth.
I love buying tea caddy spoons and strainers
from this nice English dealer.

Silver and more silver!
At Portobello Road, stacks of silver are everywhere!
I had never seen so much antique silver before!

English china from the Potteries, England.
Famous makers such as:
Wedgwood, Spode and Royal Albert.

Well, no matter what you collect it is always fun to be on a treasure hunt at antique faires. This coming Sunday, we are off to the charming town of Petaluma, CA for their antique fair in their historic district.

The hunt is always on!

Laduree Macaroon Mangue Jasmin

Macaroon Mangue Jasmin
(Macaroon Mango Jasmin)

By now you know how much I love French macaroons. The best ones are at Laduree in Paris. Each new season, Laduree introduces a new macaroon flavour. For Autumn they have just introduced Macaroon Mangue Jasmin (Macaroon Mango Jasmin).

Ooh, la, la. Don't they sound exotic? What a wonderful macaroon treat for Autumn. Oh, how I would love to try this seasonal flavor and be in Paris in Autumn!

The Sunken Garden

Kensington Palace & the Queen Victoria statue

I love English gardens!
I have a favorite secret garden in London. It is called The Sunken Garden. It is a hidden garden within London's Kensington Gardens. It is tucked away behind a wall of towering hedges next to Kensington Palace. Sadly most tourists probably miss it. My husband and I were lucky to stumble upon it while strolling thru Kensington Gardens several years ago.

If you have never seen is a look:

The gates are always locked at The Sunken Garden.
You must peer thru the gates and between the towering hedges to get a glimpse at this magical garden!

The Sunken Garden at Kensington Palace opened in May 1909. It is a formal English garden patterned after the Tudor Garden at Hampton Court. It is free for the public to view (behind the locked gates).

The Sunken Garden is truly a special place in London. If you get to Kensington Palace, find the Queen Victoria statue and make your way over thru the towering hedges. There you will find...this wonderful secret garden!
