Bon Bon Lip Balms

Tokyo Milk Bon Bon Lip Balms

Like most women, I wore lip balms before I wore lipstick. I was raised on Yardley Pot O Gloss and Bonne Belle Lip Smackers. To this day...I still love my lip balms!
My latest lip balm find is Bon Bon Lip Balm by Tokyo Milk . I was instantly drawn to their clever vintage-artsy packaging. Then I opened up the lovely little tester pot, had a whiff...and was in Bon Bon heaven! Since I love Marie Antoinette, I selected Bon Bon flavor Let Them Eat Cake. It smells as sweet as a Paris patisserie!

Let Them Eat Cake
I first discovered these adorable Bon Bons in a quaint boutique shop in Ashland, Oregon last summer. Today while shopping at Anthropologie I noticed that they are carrying a few of the flavors right now, too.

You can also find Bon Bons at the hip boutique Fringe on 21st Street in Sacramento. They carry Tokyo Milk products (which includes neat artsy packaged soaps) and lots of cool stuff both vintage and new.

Perhaps the best part about these Bon Bons are...besides being great for your lips...they are great for your hips because these sweet little Bon Bons have no calories!

Be sure to let me know which flavor is your favorite Bon Bon!

Perfumeria Gal Madrid

Vaselina Fraganced Balm
by Perfumeria Gal

Perfumeria Gal lip balms are on my favorites list!

Thanks to actress, Catherine Zeta Jones I discovered Perfumeria Gal lip balms. Years ago, I read in In Style magazine that she loves these lip balms from Spain. The pretty Art Nouveau tins really caught my eye. I finally found these adorable tins while shopping in a boutique in the San Francisco Bay Area. They have been on my favorites list ever since!

The fragranced balm is a petroleum (vaseline) mix with an SPF 4 and it even says vaselina on the tin. This is not just your ordinary vaseline though! I think it's the parafin that makes the difference in how nicely it feels and glides on...or maybe it's the delicious fragrance that makes them so special. Either way it's a wonderful European product!

My favorite fragrances are Violette and Red Currant. It also comes in Apple, Orange, Strawberry, Peach and Vanilla.

If you ever spot these adorable tins grab a few because they are rather hard to find. I can't go a day or night without using mine. I love putting it over lipstick as a gloss and I almost always put some on before I go to bed at night.

Let me know which Perfumeria Gal fragrance is your favorite!

Lavender Hand Creme by L'Occitane

Creme Mains
Lavender Hand Creme by L'Occitane en Provence

My favorite summer hand creme comes in a shiny silver tube and is from L'Occitane en Provence. It is simply the best! It is fragranced with aromatic A.O.C. lavender essential oil from Haute-Provence, which has purifying and relaxing properties. It feels so wonderful on your hands and the best part is, it doesn't leave a greasy film like other fancy French hand cremes do.

I first discovered L'Occitane years ago while shopping on the Champs Elysees in Paris. I have been hooked on their products ever since! I can now buy their products at my local mall but I still love shopping their boutiques in Paris the best! My favorite one is their tiny boutique on the Ile St-Louis in Paris.

L'Occitane always wraps your purchase like a cadeau (a present) in pretty orange tissue paper and ribbon. Oui, a French tradition! They even include complimentary samples for you to try their other products. Their staff is always friendly and offers first class customer service, too.

The company's roots are in Provence. They use natural ingredients. They never test on animals. Read more about the company's story and it's philosophy on their web site. You can proably even locate a boutique in a mall near you.

And, if you can't get to a local or Paris boutique...you can always shop online: http://www.loccitane.com/.
